მარგარეტ ბასბი

მარგარეტ ბასბი (ინგლ. Margaret Busby; დ. 11 ოქტომბერი, 1944), ასევე ცნობილია, როგორც Nana Akua Ackon — გაერთიანებული სამეფოში მოღვაწე, წარმოშობით განელი გამომცემელი, რედაქტორი, და მწერალი.[1][2] ის იყო ბრიტანეთის ყველაზე ახალგაზრდა და პირველი შავკანიანი ქალი გამომცემელი, როდესაც 1960-იანებში მან კლივ ელიზონთან ერთად ლონდონში დააფუძნა საგამომცემლო სახლი Allison & Busby.[3]

განათლება

მარგარეტი 1944 წელს დაიბადა ბრიტანეთის კოლონია ოქროს ნაპირის (დღევანდელი განა) დედაქალაქ აკრაში,[4][5] ჯორჯ და სარა ბასბების ოჯახში. მის მშობლებს ოჯახური კავშირები ჰქონდათ კარიბებში, კერძოდ: ტრინიდადი და ტობაგოში, ბარბადოსში და დომინიკაში. მამამისი იყო კვამე ნკრუმას მენტორის ჯორჯ პადმორისს მეგობარი[6] და სირილ ჯეიმზის კლასელი. სარას მამა ჯორჯ ჯეიმზ ქრისტიანი იყო 1900 წელს ლონდონში ჩატარებული პირველი პან-აფრიკული კონფერენციის დელეგატი.[7][8]

სკოლის დასრულების შემდეგ მარგარეტი სწავლობდა რედფორდის კოლეჯში, ლონდონის უნივერსიტეტში.[9] სადაც ის გახდა კოლეჯის ლიტერატურული ჟურნალის რედაქტორი და გამოსცემდა საკუთარ ლექსებს. ის ბრიტანელ ჯაზ მუსიკოსსა და განმანათლებელ ლიონელ გრიგსონზე (1942–1994) დაქორწინდა.[3]

გამომცემლობა
