კაირუანი, აგრეთვე ცნობილი როგორც ალ-კაირუანი (არაბ. القيروان) — ქალაქი ტუნისში, კაირუანის ვილაიეთის დედაქალაქი. მიიჩნევა ისლამური კულტურის დედაქალაქად. 1988 წლიდან შესულია იუნესკოს მსოფლიო მემკვიდრეობის ძეგლთა სიაში. დააარსეს არაბებმა, დაახლოებით 670 წელს.^[1] ხალიფა მუავიას დროს (მეფობდა 661-680), კაირუანი ისლამისა და ყურანის სწავლების მნიშვნელოვანი ცენტრი გახდა, რამაც აურაცხელი მუსლიმი მოიზიდა მსოფლიოს სხვადასხვა წერტილიდან, რომელთა რაოდენობითაც შეიძლება ითქვას რომ ის მხოლოდ მექასა და მედინას ჩამორჩებოდა. ქალაქში მდებარეობს უქბას წმინდა მეჩეთი.^[2]^[3] კაირუანი ბევრი მუსლიმის მიერ ისლამის მეოთხე უწმინდეს ქალაქად მიიჩნევა.^[4]

2004 წლის მონაცემებით, ქალაქის მოსახლეობა 117 903 ადამიანს შეადგენდა.
