ლორენცო ვალას სამეცნიერო თვისებაზე საუბრისას ხშირად შენიშნავენ, რომ ამ სახელგანთქმულმა ჰუმანისტმა ცუდად იცოდა ბერძნული ენა და ძალიან ცუდად თარგმნა თუკიდიდე ლათინურად.
